A Great Exercise For Your Tummy and Core!


At the start of August I released a blog article and video about the importance of strength exercises. As I was asked to demonstrate some of these exercises, on Monday I showed you how to do push ups, both the easy and standard versions.

Today I show you how to do one of the best strength exercises you can do for your tummy and core – the plank.

I hope you found that demonstration helpful. Remember — if you’re just starting, your first goal should be to work your way up to 30 seconds and build from there. If you have any questions or comments please leave them below and I will respond to everyone.

    it rained you would have had components of the oil condense onto surfaces of your boat. When it rained you would notice that characteristic streaking of oil in water.It may not have come down with the water but the result is the same. Water streaked with oil residue in your boat

    Buy workout vidoes or DVDs (that’s what I’ve used for years). Most of them require no add’l equipment. With a variety you can do different types of workouts to keep you from getting bored doing the same thing over and over again. Also, go walking and/or jogging around your neighborhood if you can. That’s another great way to burn calories and doesn’t require extra equipment or a gym membership.If you eat right, and exercise regularly, you should start to see results (weight loss) very quickly.When I’m working to lose weight I try to work out at least 1 hr a day (sometimes 2 hrs), 5 days a week (you can split the workout up if needed, a couple of 30 min sessions or four 15 min sessions) when I’m just wanting to maintain my weight I can workout 30 mins 1 hr, 3 or 4 days a week.If you are not used to working out or being active then start slow, perhaps 30 mins of exercise a day (or less) until you are comfortable with it.

      First reaction was “gahh, not today!” I’m a 5. I found something called “Cookie Butter” from Trader Joes, which is like peanut butter / ginger bread cookies spread all in one. I now am going to remove it from my sight. Other than that, my calorie intake is good and healthy, except for that evil jar of cookie butter.

      Our children deserve healthy lunches, especially those children whose families cannot afford healthy meals at home. I allowed my son to have the pizza once a week until I actually saw it in its plastic bag! Yuck. The video is exciting and makes the possibility of healthy foods for our kids a reality.I heard Justin Gagnon, CEO of Children’s Choice, speak as Children’s Choice received the highest award from Sustainable Alameda. It would be great to have that kind of environmental and healthy thinking over here.Let’s do it!
